The Philippines proudly took center stage at the Travel Daily Media (TDM) Travel Trade Excellence Awards Asia 2025, with the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines winning two major honors. TPB’s flagship campaign “MICE Philippines: We Take Your Business to Heart” was named Tourism Board Campaign of the Year, while its Community-Based Tourism (CBT) Marketing Enhancement Program earned Community Initiative of the Year, showcasing the country’s growing influence in business events and sustainable tourism.
Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo Macaraig accepted the awards on behalf of TPB at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre. The MICE Philippines campaign celebrates business events as human experiences, highlighting Filipino creativity, warm service, and storytelling-driven branding. Built on the foundations of the Philippine MICE Conference (MICECON) and MICECONNECT, the initiative strengthens industry skills and forges international partnerships.
The CBT Marketing Enhancement Program empowers local communities through a four-phase approach: understanding local stories, providing capacity-building for artisans and cultural practitioners, enhancing media visibility, and connecting them to domestic and international tourism markets. Communities across Western Visayas, Bicol, CALABARZON, Zamboanga City, Lake Sebu, Northern Samar, Sorsogon, Cordilleras, and this year, Siargao and Palawan, have benefited from sustainable opportunifties while preserving their heritage.
TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles emphasized, “These honors affirm the heart of what we do—showing that collaborations grow and business becomes personal, while empowering local storytellers strengthens livelihoods and identity.” Ambassador Macaraig added, “This recognition reflects the creativity, dedication, and resilience of our tourism professionals and communities, highlighting the Philippines as a country of warmth and talent.”
