The Philippines is strengthening its presence on the global hospitality map, with nine hotels and resorts earning MICHELIN Keys in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide hotel selection, up from five properties recognized in 2025.

The latest selection includes two Two MICHELIN Key hotels and seven One MICHELIN Key properties, highlighting the country’s diverse hospitality landscape—from luxury city stays in Manila and Cebu to secluded island escapes in Palawan, Siargao, and Negros Occidental.

New Entries And A Notable Promotion

Making its debut with Two MICHELIN Keys, El Nido Resorts Lagen Island is recognized for its forested setting, limestone surroundings, Filipino-inspired accommodations, outdoor experiences, and focus on environmental stewardship.

Raffles Makati has also been promoted from One to Two MICHELIN Keys, recognizing its all-suite accommodations, personal butler service, elegant interiors, and luxury experience in the heart of Manila.

Four additional properties join the One MICHELIN Key selection for the first time. NUSTAR Hotel Cebu brings contemporary design and expansive sea and city views to Cebu’s hospitality scene, while El Nido Resorts Pangulasian Island offers contemporary villas surrounded by white-sand beaches and clear waters.

In Manila, Hotel Okura Manila at Newport World Resorts introduces refined Japanese-inspired hospitality, while Manami Resort in Sipalay City offers an intimate retreat with just 18 villas overlooking the Sulu Sea.

Completing the Philippine selection are Nay Palad Hideaway Siargao, Fairmont Makati, and Amanpulo, which retained their MICHELIN Key distinctions from 2025.

A Global Benchmark For Exceptional Stays

The MICHELIN Key is The MICHELIN Guide’s distinction for outstanding hotels, assessed by its inspectors using five universal criteria: architecture and design, service quality, individuality, value for money, and connection to the destination.

The distinctions range from One MICHELIN Key for “a very special stay,” Two MICHELIN Keys for “an exceptional stay,” and Three MICHELIN Keys for “an extraordinary stay.”

Globally, the 2026 selection features 2,832 MICHELIN Key hotels across 79 countries, including 470 newly awarded properties.
