Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Philippines marked the fifth year of Pets Date Night, its signature event celebrating the deep bond between pets and their families while highlighting the importance of preventive care in keeping pets healthy year-round.
Designed as both a celebration and an educational experience, the event brought together families and their pets through a mix of interactive activities, carnival games, free treats, veterinary check-ups, and lively performances. Educational talks offered practical insights on responsible pet ownership, while a pet fashion show, engaging entertainment, and a captivating light show added to the festive atmosphere.
Pets Date Night also reinforced its commitment to animal welfare through partnerships with Animal Kingdom Foundation and CARA Welfare Philippines, organizations dedicated to humane sheltering, community education, and the adoption of rescued animals.
“Pets Date Night is more than a celebration—it’s a platform to champion responsible pet care and nurture a culture where pets are truly valued,” said Dr. Michael Banawa, Head of Animal Health at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Philippines. “We are committed to supporting families in caring for their pets and building healthier, happier communities.”
With an estimated 21.3 million dogs and 2.74 million cats living in Filipino households, pets continue to play an increasingly meaningful role in family life. As the pet population grows, experts emphasized that timely vaccinations, regular veterinary visits, and comprehensive parasite protection are among the most effective ways to safeguard pet and community health.
At the heart of the celebration were free veterinary consultations and expert guidance, reminding families that year-round parasite prevention helps protect pets and reduce the spread of disease in homes and communities. Dr. Ross Banayo, Technical Manager for Companion Animals, reinforced that preventive care supports long-term pet health and well-being.
From artistic “pawricature” sessions to the crowd-favorite Holitails Pawchella, where pets shone in festive and bohemian-inspired looks, Pets Date Night blended fun with purpose—continuing Boehringer Ingelheim’s mission to promote healthy, joyful, and lasting relationships between pets and their families.
