MANILA, PHILIPPINES — After years of perseverance, Cebu’s own Sam Rivera, known as NEMESIS, has claimed the crown at the 2025 Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines National Finals, earning her spot among the world’s elite freestyle dancers in Los Angeles. Her Top 16 finish at the World Finals solidified her presence on the global stage.

NEMESIS’ journey began in Cebu’s krump community, shaped by local battles, long training sessions, and a tight-knit dance scene. After placing Top 8 in the 2023 Cebu qualifier and coming close at nationals in 2024, she finally broke through in 2025. Beyond physical training, her preparation included mental conditioning through visualization, meditation, and self-review—helping her dance with focus, confidence, and authenticity.

“The biggest difference this year was my mindset,” NEMESIS shared. “I came in with a goal, self-awareness, and trust in my own style. Your roots are your strength, and the world stage rewards authenticity.”

As one of the few women excelling in a male-dominated krump scene, NEMESIS has become a symbol of confidence and community. Her style—aggressive yet expressive—reflects her identity and heritage, inspiring young dancers across the Philippines to pursue their passion boldly.

Her achievements have been recognized internationally, earning her Asian Krumper of the Year 2025 and a nomination for Worldwide Female Krumper of the Year. With Red Bull Dance Your Style 2026 already underway, NEMESIS hopes her journey motivates the next generation of Filipino dancers to train hard, trust their instincts, and stay true to their craft.

The 2026 qualifiers will take place across Cebu, Davao, and Manila, inviting dancers of all styles—hip-hop, popping, krump, waacking, and open choreo—to compete and continue the Philippines’ growing legacy in global freestyle.
