MANILA, Philippines — From grassroots gyms to the starting lines of marathons, MILO® continues to champion the spirit of sports for every Filipino. In the past year alone, the brand has introduced over 3 million kids to sports and hosted the country’s first fully inclusive marathon for persons with disabilities—a milestone in accessibility and community-centered competition.

“In MILO® we believe that sports is a great teacher,” says Carlo Sampan, Assistant Vice President and Head of MILO® Sports. “It instills grit, teamwork, and discipline—not just on the field, but in life.” Year on year, MILO® has expanded its reach by 50%, giving nearly half of all Filipino children aged 7–12 a chance to explore basketball, volleyball, chess, gymnastics, pole vault, taekwondo, archery, and more.

Through over 1,200 sports clinics nationwide and partnerships with 42 sports organizations—including the Philippine Pole Vault Club, SWIM Philippines, Zamboanga Football Club, and the Philippine Bowling Federation—young athletes gain hands-on training, mentorship, and a taste of what it means to compete with confidence.

The brand’s commitment to inclusivity was on full display during the MILO® Marathon Surigao leg, held in celebration of National Disability Rights Week. Designed with accessibility in mind, the marathon welcomed runners with disabilities to experience their first-ever marathon, complete with redesigned wayfinding systems and sensitivity booths fostering understanding among participants.

Safety and life skills also remain central to MILO®’s programs. Last July, the brand launched SAFE Swim in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross—a drowning prevention initiative that educated 1,593 parents and children across 27 sessions, empowering families to stay safe in and around water.

Beyond milestones and numbers, MILO®’s mission is simple: to make sports accessible for all, nurturing not just future champions, but every personal victory along the way. “Greatness isn’t only measured by medals or titles,” Sampan reminds us. “It’s found in every child discovering their potential, learning resilience, and celebrating the wins that matter most.”
