What kind of explorer are you? The 2026 Metrobank Art & Design Excellence (MADE) exhibition, Traverse: Creativity in Motion, invites visitors to discover their answer while exploring nearly 100 paintings, sculptures, and mixed media works that offer different perspectives on power, hope, human connection, and everyday life.

The exhibition features the works of three 2026 MADE Grand Awardees, selected from more than 600 submissions from artists across the country. Aldrin B. Olaguir received the Sculpture award for Hinahalal, Binabanal (The Chosen, the Sanctified), Kennette A. Luague was recognized for Mixed Media for Taya (Bet), and Vince Martin A. Macatangay won in Oil or Acrylic on Canvas for Sonder: Sa Bawat Mundong ’Di Ko Matahak (Sonder: In Worlds Beyond My Reach).

Their works explore different dimensions of the human experience, from systems of power and workers’ hopes to the countless lives unfolding around us.

Find Your Own Way Through The Exhibition

Curated by May Lyn Cruz, Associate Professor at the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Fine Arts, Traverse encourages visitors to become active participants rather than simply observe the artworks.

At the Discovery Concourse, guests can answer five questions to discover their “Explorer Archetype”—Cartographer, Scout, or Pathfinder—and receive a suggested route through the exhibition. Visitors can also collect stamps across six stations, create a souvenir bookmark, and unlock a special MADE sticker.

As individual journeys accumulate, they contribute to a growing visual map that reflects the different ways audiences experience the exhibition.

“The works featured in the exhibition remind us that art remains a powerful way of helping us better understand ourselves, one another, and the society we aspire to build,” said Metrobank Foundation President Philip Francisco Dy.

The 2026 MADE exhibition is free and open to the public until October 18, 2026, at The Metropolitan Museum of Manila (The M). It is open Tuesday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Group guided tours may also be arranged through The M’s website.
