Manila, Philippines — January 15, 2026 – MediaTek, a global leader in wireless technology, unveiled the Filogic 8000 family at CES 2026, ushering in the era of Wi-Fi 8. This next-generation platform is designed to deliver ultra-reliable connectivity across gateways—including broadband gateways and enterprise access points—and client devices such as smartphones, laptops, TVs, streaming devices, tablets, and IoT products. Wi-Fi 8 also promises to enhance AI-driven applications, offering users improved bandwidth, optimized connectivity, and better power efficiency for seamless performance.

As the number of connected devices grows, crowded wireless environments often result in slow or unstable connections. MediaTek’s Wi-Fi 8 addresses this with innovations across four strategic areas. Multi-AP coordination uses Coordinated Beamforming, Coordinated Spatial Reuse, and Multi-AP Scheduling to enable access points to work together efficiently. Spectrum efficiency and coexistence are improved with Dynamic Subband Operation, Non-Primary Channel Access, and In-Device Coexistence technologies. Coverage and range are enhanced through Enhanced Long Range and Distributed-Tone Resource Unit, ensuring stable connections even at the network edge. Finally, latency and reliability optimization—including smarter data rate adaptation and Aggregated PPDU—supports real-time applications such as XR, cloud gaming, and industrial automation.

“Emerging applications demand greater reliability, efficiency, and performance,” said Kevin Robinson, President and CEO of Wi-Fi Alliance. “MediaTek exemplifies industry leadership by being among the first to sample Wi-Fi 8 solutions, enabling ultra-reliable, multi-gigabit connectivity globally.” Alan Hsu, MediaTek Corporate VP and General Manager of the Intelligent Connectivity Business Unit, added, “Through our CES demonstrations, we showcase our commitment to advancing next-generation wireless technologies and reinforcing leadership in the Wi-Fi space.”

The Filogic 8000 series will target premium and flagship devices, with the first chipset expected to reach customers later in 2026. Building on the success of Wi-Fi 7, MediaTek continues to power the next era of smart applications, working with partners including Deutsche Telekom, Airties, SoftAtHome, and Zyxel to deliver robust, scalable, and future-ready wireless solutions.
