With inflation and the rising cost of living continuing to influence household spending, many Filipinos are putting off healthcare plans and preventive care. Recognizing the need for more flexible and inclusive ways to access medical services, Maxicare Healthcare Corporation has partnered with Billease, a leading consumer finance application in the Philippines, to make healthcare coverage easier to purchase and manage.

The two companies recently formalized their partnership, integrating Maxicare’s PRIMA healthcare plans into the Billease app marketplace. Through the platform, eligible customers can discover, select, and purchase participating PRIMA products while taking advantage of flexible payment options.

“Billease is the ideal partner in upgrading our healthcare through more convenient, flexible payment solutions that make our services and products more accessible to members,” said Maxicare Group President and Group Chief Executive Officer Christian Argos. “This partnership is a testament to how healthcare and financial technology can unite to address traditional barriers to medical security, ensuring that high-quality medical coverage is within everyone’s reach.”

Making Preventive Care Easier to Access

Maxicare PRIMA is a range of prepaid healthcare cards designed to make outpatient and preventive care more accessible. The plans allow customers to walk into Maxicare Clinics nationwide and access a variety of healthcare services through a one-time purchase.

Depending on the plan, PRIMA benefits may include unlimited consultations, routine checkups, laboratory tests and diagnostics, as well as specialized care for mothers, babies, and individuals with specific health needs. Some plans are also valid for up to one year from the date of purchase.

By bringing PRIMA to the Billease marketplace, Maxicare is expanding the ways Filipinos can secure preventive healthcare coverage. Eligible customers can purchase participating plans through installment options with flexible terms and real-time credit approvals.

“True financial inclusion means providing credit where it can make the most meaningful impact on people’s lives,” said Billease Head of POS Product Kurt Molina. “Embedding our platform into Maxicare’s ecosystem breaks down traditional economic barriers to healthcare, making quality preventive care accessible to all.”

Healthcare at the Tap of an App

Maxicare PRIMA plans are now available through the Billease platform, allowing customers to complete the purchase journey digitally.

To get started, users simply need to download the Billease app, create an account, and head to the “Deals” section. From there, they can select their preferred Maxicare PRIMA product and payment plan. Product selection, payment, and confirmation can all be completed within the app.

Together with Protech, a leading ecosystem partner, Maxicare and Billease aim to make preventive healthcare more accessible to underserved and unbanked Filipinos. By providing more manageable payment options, the partnership seeks to ease the financial concerns that often cause people to delay medical care.

“Maxicare can now reach more health-conscious Filipinos who may have delayed or deferred their preventive care due to different barriers,” said Maxicare Clinics President and Chief Executive Officer Josephine Lopez. “By opening our clinics to all, even walk-ins, we reinforce our commitment to ensuring healthcare access and empowering proactive health management for everyone.”

Through the partnership, Maxicare and Billease are bringing together healthcare and financial technology to give more Filipinos a practical way to prioritize preventive care—helping make quality healthcare more accessible, convenient, and financially manageable.
