Globe Coop, the employee cooperative of Globe Telecom, continues to transform challenges into opportunities with the launch of its Globe Coop CAREavan, an employee-led initiative designed to bring education and livelihood assistance to underserved communities. Its first stop at Dingalan Community College (DCC) delivered meaningful support to students and families, marking the beginning of a nationwide outreach effort in partnership with Globe’s regional teams. The program aims to create localized, sustainable impact for vulnerable groups including special children, teen mothers, fisherfolk, out-of-school youth, students, and indigenous communities such as the Mangyan and Aeta.
Responding to financial difficulties that have led to student dropouts in recent years, Globe Coop introduced its Bag-to-School program, selecting 17 deserving students to receive comprehensive support packages. Each student received an Educational Support Package equipped with notebooks, writing materials, and other essentials to help them stay focused on learning. At the same time, their families were provided with Globe Retailer Packages containing a basic mobile phone, retailer SIM, merchandising materials, and an autoload credit of up to ₱1,000—giving households a starting point for small mobile retail businesses that offer sustainable income opportunities.
The CAREavan also featured a Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP) workshop, an initiative designed to strengthen students’ digital literacy. Participants learned to think critically, navigate the online world responsibly, and practice empowered digital citizenship—skills that are increasingly essential in today’s connected society.
