Gap is celebrating personal style and self-expression with its Fall 2026 campaign, “Denim on your own,” starring rising musician Malcolm Todd and actress Inde Navarrette.
Set to Todd’s original reinterpretation of Robyn’s iconic “Dancing on My Own,” created exclusively for the campaign, the new campaign brings together two emerging talents from different creative fields. Through their distinct perspectives and shared confidence, Malcolm and Inde showcase GapDenim as a canvas for creativity and individuality.
The campaign reinforces Gap’s role as a platform for emerging creative voices, highlighting artists who are shaping culture through music, entertainment, and self-expression.
“Gap has always been at the intersection of music, style, and culture — partnering with artists who bring a unique point of view and inspire people to express themselves,” said Mark Breitbard, President and CEO of Gap brand. “From our heritage of iconic creative collaborations to championing today’s emerging voices, we continue to evolve how we show up in culture — building our own cultural currency through authentic partnerships, original storytelling, and a clear point of view.”
Making Denim Personal
Directed by Tanu Muiño, with creative direction by Calvin Leung, Head of Gap Brand Creative, the campaign features fashion and image direction by Alastair McKimm and photography by Bjorn Loos.
Malcolm and Inde appear across a series of distinct spaces, each bringing their own rhythm and style to the campaign. At the center is the idea that Gap’s everyday essentials can become an extension of personal identity as people create, perform, and connect.
“For this campaign, we didn’t simply ask Malcolm to cover ‘Dancing On My Own,’ we asked him to reinterpret the song through his own perspective,” said Fabiola Torres, Chief Marketing Officer of Gap brand. “That same spirit of making something your own defines GapDenim — a collection designed for people to find the fits and styles that feel uniquely theirs.”
Todd, one of music’s emerging artists, is known for his playful songwriting and production. Several of his songs have reached platinum status, while his latest album, Do That Again, released through Columbia Records, debuted in the Billboard top five. He is also preparing for his sold-out 38-date North American tour, which begins September 2.
Navarrette, meanwhile, is an emerging Hollywood talent who recently appeared in OBSESSION. She has been recognized for bringing authenticity and emotional depth to her performances.
Both stars say the campaign gave them room to express their individual personalities.
“I’ve always been drawn to making things my own — whether that’s through music, style, or the way I express myself,” Todd said.
Navarrette added that the campaign gave her and Todd the freedom to “move, experiment and express ourselves,” reflecting the personal nature of individual style.
A New Take on GapDenim
With denim serving as a defining part of Gap’s identity since 1969, the Fall 2026 collection builds on the brand’s heritage while introducing refreshed interpretations of its signature styles.
The collection focuses on fit, versatility, and personal style, with updated washes, utility-inspired colorways, refreshed silhouettes, and modern takes on Gap’s denim codes.
Among the featured styles are the Mid-Rise Straight Taper Jean, worn by Inde, and the ’90s Loose Jean, worn by Malcolm. Together, the collection offers different fits and expressions designed to let wearers find the styles that feel most like their own.
