Philippines, February 10, 2026 — Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has released key findings from its Asia Pacific (APAC) survey of consumers and businesses, highlighting the growing role of sustainability in cross-border trade and logistics.

The survey revealed that 80% of APAC SMEs consider environmental concerns when trading with Europe, with Southeast Asian markets leading the trend—over 55% of SMEs in Malaysia and Indonesia prioritize sustainability in supply chain decisions. Consumers are also pushing businesses toward eco-friendly operations, with 84% of APAC consumers seeking sustainable options for online shopping. Notably, nearly four in ten consumers are willing to pay a premium for sustainable packaging, and 81% prefer companies with visible sustainability initiatives over competitors with similar offerings.

Sustainability is shifting from a compliance checkbox to a driver of growth, resilience, and differentiation in global commerce,” said Salil Chari, Regional President, Asia Pacific, FedEx. “At FedEx, we are innovating our services and providing smarter tools to help businesses turn sustainability ambitions into action, enabling lower-emission shipping while strengthening competitiveness.”

Philippine businesses are increasingly leveraging environmental stewardship as a strategic advantage. “FedEx cross-border trade solutions give local exporters the tools and expertise to meet evolving buyer expectations in a sustainability-driven economy,” said Maribeth Espinosa, Managing Director, FedEx Philippines.

FedEx is actively reimagining logistics to reduce environmental impact, including:

  • AI-powered Stops Sequencing to optimize delivery routes, minimize mileage, and lower carbon emissions.

  • FedEx® Sustainability Insights, a cloud-based platform providing near-real-time CO₂e emissions data for shipments and accounts.

  • Deployment of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at major hubs like Chicago O’Hare and Miami International Airports.

  • Electric vehicles and tricycles in APAC markets, including China, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and Taiwan, to reduce last-mile emissions.

As cross-border trade evolves, FedEx remains committed to delivering faster, smarter, and more sustainable shipping solutions, helping businesses succeed while advancing a greener future.
