Award-winning actress, producer, and director Eva Longoria takes viewers on a flavorful journey through France in “Eva Longoria: Searching for France,” premiering on Metro Channel on Sunday, August 23, at 7 p.m.

Traveling from Paris to Provence, Bordeaux, Alsace, Brittany, and Burgundy, Longoria explores the history, traditions, and regional influences that have shaped French cuisine. Along the way, she delves into the concept of terroir, the French belief that the character and quality of food are deeply connected to the land where it is produced.

Her culinary adventure brings her to some of France’s most celebrated food destinations. In Paris, Longoria samples an oyster with rhubarb alongside renowned chef Alain Ducasse, who has earned 21 Michelin stars throughout his career. In Provence, she discovers the traditional flavors of bouillabaisse, while Bordeaux introduces her to celebrated wines and local specialties.

Longoria also ventures to Brittany, where she braves stormy conditions before enjoying fresh oysters, crab, and blue lobster. In Burgundy, she meets Cistercian monks who continue centuries-old traditions connected to terroir while producing their own creamy cheese.

A Sweet Taste of France

The journey also explores France’s renowned pastry culture. Longoria samples creations including the Dahlia cake, Cedric Grolet’s Mango cake, Rhum au Baba, and inventive pastries from Boneshaker Donut.

She also gets creative in the kitchen, putting her own spin on the iconic Ladurée macaron by combining spicy Mexican chocolate with vanilla ganache. Her creation, aptly named the “Diablo,” brings together French pastry craftsmanship and her Mexican culinary influences.

The experience culminates in a special culinary journey along the Seine River, where Longoria joins three-Michelin-starred chef Eric Ripert and food writer Lindsay Tramuta for a traditional seven-course French fine-dining experience. Each course explores another chapter in France’s culinary history and its influence on dining around the world.

“Eva Longoria: Searching for France” airs Sundays beginning August 23 at 7 p.m. on Metro Channel.
