Evan Saxon Productions and The Filipino Channel (TFC) have officially acquired the international distribution rights for Eraserheads: Combo On The Run, the acclaimed documentary chronicling the legacy of one of the Philippines’ most influential bands.
Led by industry veteran Evan Saxon, the production company brings years of expertise in global music film distribution, having overseen major campaigns for artists such as Pearl Jam, Coldplay, The Beatles, Dolly Parton, Green Day, and Jimi Hendrix. His track record in turning music films into large-scale cinematic events made him an ideal partner for filmmaker Maria Diane Ventura.
“When I met Evan Saxon Productions, I found a partner that truly understands how to bring music stories with emotional depth to the world,” Ventura shared. She added that the collaboration offers a chance to create screenings that feel immersive, emotional, and communal—reflecting the spirit of the band and the film itself.
Under this partnership, the documentary is slated for its initial international theatrical release in 2026, covering North America, the UK, Spain, and Latin America. TFC, through ABS-CBN International, will handle distribution in the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand, with screenings across the Arabian region set for January 2026.
Ventura believes the film’s universal themes—resilience, healing, and the unifying power of music—will resonate far beyond the Filipino community.
Directed and produced by Ventura, Combo On The Run has already made waves globally, winning Best International Feature Documentary at the Ierapetra International Documentary and Film Festival in Croatia, and becoming the first Filipino film screened at San Diego Comic-Con. It was also part of the Spotlight on the Philippines program at the 44th Hawai‘i International Film Festival.
Presented by DVent Pictures, WEU, and Mano Y Mano, the film captures the Eraserheads’ rise, breakup, and triumphant 2022 reunion, offering a moving portrait of a band that reshaped Filipino music and defined a generation.
