Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Juan Miguel Cuna visited Vena Energy’s solar facilities in Currimao and Paoay, Ilocos Norte, on September 10, 2026, highlighting the continued development of renewable energy projects in the province.
During the visit, representatives from Vena Energy briefed Secretary Cuna and the DENR delegation on the company’s existing operations and upcoming solar projects in Ilocos Norte.
Vena Energy currently operates two solar power plants in Currimao, managed by Mirae Asia Energy Corporation and Nuevo Solar Energy Corp. The company is also developing two additional projects in the province: the Astra Solar Power Project in Currimao and the Opus Solar Power Project in Paoay.
The site visit provided an opportunity for the DENR delegation to gain a closer look at Vena Energy’s renewable energy operations and planned developments in the region.
With both operational facilities and projects in development, Vena Energy continues to expand its solar energy portfolio in Ilocos Norte, contributing to the province’s growing renewable energy landscape.
