GMAC Logitech Refrigeration Corporation has launched its third and largest cold-storage facility in Mindanao at the Anflo Industrial Estate in Panabo City, Davao del Norte — a development that backers say will meaningfully strengthen the region’s food supply chain and export capacity.
The facility, a joint venture between Glacier Megafridge, Inc. and AC Logistics, spans 11,728 pallet positions and can simultaneously handle products across different temperature ranges. It is projected to generate around 119 jobs in operations, engineering, quality control, and logistics.
The timing is deliberate. The Philippines spends roughly 39% of GDP on logistics — among the highest rates in Southeast Asia — creating persistent price gaps between produce available in the provinces and what consumers pay in Luzon. GMAC was formed in 2021 specifically to address that disparity.
Located within the Anflo Industrial Estate, the facility sits near key ports and production areas, enabling faster turnaround for both import and export operations. The estate has spent the past decade building out cold-chain and agribusiness infrastructure, with banana exports from the region growing 26% in 2025 alone. Beyond agricultural products, GMAC will serve as a distribution hub for processed meat across Mindanao.
“This facility drives collaboration and shared resources to strengthen the food chain,” said Arturo C. Yan, President and CEO of Glacier Megafridge. “We are creating a powerful logistics ecosystem where goods move at the right time, place, and cost.”
The Anflo Industrial Estate, established in 2016 across 63 hectares, has grown into one of Mindanao’s premier industrial hubs, home to locators across agribusiness, manufacturing, and foreign direct investment.
