CIBI Information, Inc. (CIBI) has been recognized at the Asian Banking & Finance Awards 2026, receiving the Financial Inclusion Award for the second consecutive year. The recognition highlights organizations working to expand access to financial services for underserved communities.
For CIBI, the award reflects its long-standing efforts to make credit evaluation more inclusive by helping financial institutions better understand borrowers through broader and more representative financial data.
“This recognition is especially significant because it celebrates a mission we have upheld for more than four decades,” said Pia Arellano, President and CEO of CIBI, during the awarding ceremony. “We have remained committed to helping Filipinos and institutions make better decisions through trusted data, while continuously evolving to meet the changing needs of our country.”
Expanding Access Through Better Credit Data
CIBI’s Advanced Tier (AT) platform currently supports more than 1,091 institutions, 269 million tradelines, and over 60 million scorable Filipinos, helping financial institutions with borrower onboarding, portfolio monitoring, reassessment, and risk management.
A key part of the platform is its use of real-time credit data from the government-mandated Credit Information Corporation (CIC). By incorporating information from rural banks, cooperatives, and fintech lenders, CIBI aims to create more complete credit profiles and make more financial activity visible within the formal financial system.
This approach addresses a broader challenge in financial inclusion, as many Filipinos have limited visibility in formal credit systems. As digital lending, Buy Now, Pay Later services, fintech platforms, and microfinance continue to expand, more comprehensive credit assessment can help financial institutions evaluate borrowers beyond traditional indicators.
By transforming broader financial data into verifiable credit profiles, CIBI continues to develop solutions designed to support greater access to financial opportunities and help more Filipinos participate in the formal financial system.
