Manila, Philippines, October 2025 — In a move to make government benefits more accessible and secure, China Banking Corporation (Chinabank) has partnered with the Social Security System (SSS) to launch the MySSS Card powered by Chinabank Debit Visa — a single card that serves as both a valid SSS ID and a fully functional savings account.

SSS and Chinabank formalized their partnership through a memorandum of agreement signed on October 7, 2025, at Chinabank’s head office in Makati City. Present during the signing were Chinabank Executive Vice President & Consumer Banking Segment Head Aloysius C. Alday Jr., Chinabank President and CEO Romeo D. Uyan Jr., SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph M. De Claro, and SSS EVP Corporate Services Sector & Acting Head IT Management Group, Elvira G. Alcantara-Resare
The partnership was formalized during a memorandum signing on October 7, attended by Chinabank President and CEO Romeo D. Uyan Jr. and SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph Montes De Claro, together with other key executives from both institutions.

Designed for convenience, the MySSS Card links directly to a Chinabank savings account where members can receive all SSS disbursements—from sickness, maternity, and unemployment benefits to pension and loan proceeds. Identity verification will be powered by the PSA National ID eVerify system, ensuring a secure and seamless experience.
The first card issued to every member will be free of charge, with no maintaining balance. Accounts start earning interest at ₱10,000, with a rate of 0.125%, and enjoy cashless transfers via Instapay and PesoNet. Reflecting Chinabank’s sustainability efforts, it also introduces an eco-friendly Green PIN feature for paperless banking.
Being Visa-powered, the card works for both local and international transactions, accepted in over 130 million merchants across 200 countries, including online purchases and global withdrawals. Through the MyCBC App, members can easily monitor balances, pay bills, and transfer funds anytime.
Account opening and card issuance are available at any Chinabank branch nationwide, with options for branch pickup or delivery. More updates on rollout dates and member registration will be announced soon.
