The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) Manila Office took center stage at the PTAA Travel & Tour Expo 2026, showcasing the country’s charm, regional treasures, and deepening ties with the Philippines during its spring and summer seasons. The event also marked a milestone in the 70th anniversary of Japan–Philippines diplomatic relations.
A Milestone Visit
The opening day highlighted the presence of Naobumi Yokota, Minister for Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines. In his keynote speech, Minister Yokota emphasized, “Tourism is not only about visiting places. It is about connecting people, cultures, and generations. Each journey creates understanding. Each visit builds trust. And each shared experience opens new possibilities for both our peoples.”
Japan’s Seasons in Focus
JNTO’s pavilion at the SMX Convention Center recreated Japan’s spring and summer landscapes, inspiring Filipino travelers with seasonal experiences:

The Expo not only promoted tourism but also celebrated seven decades of Japan–Philippines relations. Minister Yokota invited Filipino travelers: “Japan warmly invites you, to explore, to discover, and to return again and again. Not only as visitors, but as partners in weaving our shared future together.”
