The Chamber of Cosmetics Industry of the Philippines, Inc. (CCIP) convened cosmetics and personal care stakeholders for a landmark dialogue with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) during its 3rd General Membership Meeting (GMM) held at the SMX Convention Center, in conjunction with the Beauty + Health & Wellness Convention.
With the theme “FDA Frontline: What’s New & What’s Next?”, the event created an open platform for industry members to raise regulatory concerns directly with FDA officials and receive first-hand updates on new policies, digital reforms, and compliance initiatives shaping the sector.

Distinguished speakers included CCIP President Christine Reyes, Executive Vice President for External Affairs Janina Gutierrez-Tan (JRadiance Corporation), and FDA representatives Esperanza Almenanza, Ralph Christofer Manapat, and Florlita Gabuna.
Reyes emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration between regulators and businesses. “It’s uncommon for stakeholders to have this level of direct interaction with the FDA,” she said. “This gathering demonstrates how partnership can advance the cosmetics industry while ensuring consumer safety.”
During her presentation on Post-Marketing Surveillance (PMS), Almenanza underscored transparency and accountability in compliance. “Receiving a notice of non-compliance shouldn’t intimidate brands,” she noted. “What matters most is corrective action. Compliance is a shared responsibility.”
The FDA also addressed processing delays, introducing the Food and Drug Action Center (FDAC) hotline to streamline communication. Upcoming Functional Pop Beauty (F-POP) guidelines will align with ASEAN standards while taking inspiration from Korea’s functional cosmetics certification framework.
Through this engagement, CCIP reaffirmed its role as the bridge between regulators and the private sector—advocating compliance, innovation, and global competitiveness for the Philippine cosmetics industry.
