New Zealand singer-songwriter Bic Runga, best known for her timeless hit “Sway,” is set to perform in Manila for the first time on October 1, 2026, at the SM City North Edsa Skydome. Presented by Midas Promotions, the intimate, one-night-only concert will bring Runga’s celebrated catalog to Filipino fans.
With a career spanning more than two decades, Runga has earned multi-platinum success and widespread recognition for songs including “Sway,” “Drive,” “Listening for the Weather,” “Get Some Sleep,” and “Something Good.” Since releasing her debut single “Drive” in 1996, she has received numerous honors in her native New Zealand, including the prestigious APRA Silver Scroll songwriting award.
Runga holds the distinction of having won the most Tui Awards by an individual artist, including four Best Female Vocalist awards and three Best Producer awards. Her debut album, Drive, achieved seven-times-platinum certification and featured “Sway,” while her 2002 follow-up, Beautiful Collision, reached an impressive 11-times-platinum certification and produced hits such as “Get Some Sleep,” “Something Good,” and “Listening for the Weather.”
Her achievements extend beyond music charts and awards. In 2006, Runga was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit. A decade later, she received the Legacy Award at the New Zealand Music Awards and was inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame. She also serves as a writer-director on the APRA board and sits on the executive committee of the Music Producers Guild New Zealand.
In 2023, Runga marked the 20th anniversary of Beautiful Collision with a sold-out tour across New Zealand and Australia. She was subsequently honored with the Rolling Stone Icon Award. In February 2026, she returned with Red Sunset, a new album recorded in Paris during the winter of 2025.
Known for turning personal experiences into songs that resonate universally, Runga continues to create music defined by her gentle, thoughtful, and deeply human songwriting.
Her Manila debut offers fans the opportunity to hear these beloved songs live, including “Sway,” “Drive,” and other favorites from her acclaimed catalog. Meet & Greet and Soundcheck add-ons will also be available for fans seeking a more intimate concert experience.
