adidas today introduces the Hyperboost Edge, an all-new lightweight super-trainer designed to redefine road running. Combining breakthrough technologies in cushioning, fit, and traction, the Hyperboost Edge delivers a balanced, responsive, and energized running experience for athletes of all levels.

Crafted as adidas’ first lightweight non-plated super-trainer, the Hyperboost Edge features the Hyperboost Pro midsole, a PRIMEWEAVE upper, and a LIGHTTRAXION outsole. Weighing just 255 grams, the shoe provides supreme comfort and high energy return without stiffening elements or plates, allowing the foam to work naturally through the gait cycle.

At the heart of the Hyperboost Edge is Hyperboost Pro foam, a high-performance midsole material engineered for maximum cushioning and energetic propulsion. With a 45mm rearfoot stack and 6mm drop, the foam optimizes every stride, whether for daily training or high-mileage sessions. Extensive testing by adidas, alongside a University of Cologne study of 60 runners, revealed:

  • 73% preferred its energy return

  • 77% noted softer cushioning

  • Over 50% rated it more comfortable overall

  • A majority agreed it delivered a superior running experience

The PRIMEWEAVE upper offers hyper-lightweight comfort with secure lockdown, while integrated heel pods provide targeted cushioning and stability. The LIGHTTRAXION full-length outsole ensures high traction and durable grip across varied surfaces, inspired by adidas race shoe DNA.

Beyond performance, the Hyperboost Edge introduces a bold, industrial-inspired design aesthetic. Its inflated midsole silhouette highlights the Hyperboost Pro technology, while the iconic three stripes are repositioned on the stacked midsole to emphasize performance. The clean, minimalist upper features hidden eyelets and light-bonded elements for a futuristic, sleek look.
