adidas has unveiled the Adizero Dropset Pro, a new hybrid training shoe designed for athletes who combine running, strength training, and functional fitness in a single workout.

Available in the Philippines starting June 17 for ₱8,500, the latest addition to the Adizero Dropset franchise blends technologies from adidas’ speed-focused Adizero running line with the stability-driven Dropset training series, creating a shoe built to handle the diverse demands of hybrid athletes.

Designed for the Modern Hybrid Athlete

As hybrid fitness continues to gain popularity worldwide, more athletes are incorporating multiple disciplines into their training routines—from running and cardio sessions to weightlifting, sled pushes, farmer’s carries, lunges, and functional fitness exercises.

According to research commissioned by adidas, nearly 49% of hybrid athletes say their current footwear limits their performance during workouts, while 47% believe their shoes do not adequately support both running and strength training.

The Adizero Dropset Pro was developed to address these challenges by delivering a balance of speed, stability, control, and grip in a single silhouette.

From Training Sessions to Race Day

The shoe made its debut in Stockholm, where adidas athletes wore it during the HYROX World Championships, one of the world’s premier hybrid fitness competitions.

The Adizero Dropset Pro follows the earlier launch of the Adizero Dropset Elite, adidas’ race-focused hybrid performance shoe developed alongside HYROX World Champion Tim Wenisch. While the Elite is aimed at high-level competition, the Pro model is designed for everyday training and race preparation across all skill levels.

Tested with hybrid athletes Graham Halliday and Fabian Eisenlauer, the new model is intended to support athletes throughout their training journey, whether they are preparing for competition or simply pursuing personal fitness goals.

Combining Speed and Stability

The Adizero Dropset Pro incorporates several performance-focused technologies from across adidas’ training and running categories.

Lightstrike Pro Foam

Borrowed from the Adizero running lineup, Lightstrike Pro foam provides lightweight cushioning and energy return to help athletes maintain speed and responsiveness during running intervals and high-intensity movements.

Energy Rods

Integrated Energy Rods support smoother heel-to-toe transitions and improved propulsion, helping athletes generate more efficient forward movement during runs.

Lighttraxion Outsole

The shoe features adidas’ Lighttraxion system, a lightweight traction solution engineered to reduce overall weight while maintaining grip and agility.

Continental™ Rubber

For enhanced stability across different surfaces, the outsole incorporates Continental™ rubber, delivering reliable traction in both wet and dry conditions.

Ultra-Thin Adizero Sockliner

A razor-thin 2.6mm Adizero sockliner keeps the stack height low, improving ground feel and stability during strength-focused exercises such as squats, lunges, and weighted carries.

Supporting the Evolution of Training

According to Bernhard Serr, Vice President of Product at adidas Training, the growth of hybrid fitness has created new demands for performance footwear.

“Hybrid athletes are redefining what performance looks like. Athletes are no longer training in one lane, and their footwear needs to evolve with that shift.”

He added that adidas continues to work closely with athletes and the broader hybrid fitness community to develop products that address real-world training needs.

Built for Every Workout

Whether tackling treadmill intervals, functional fitness circuits, strength sessions, or preparing for a HYROX competition, the Adizero Dropset Pro is designed to help athletes move efficiently while maintaining the stability needed for demanding lifts and functional movements.

The launch further strengthens adidas’ commitment to the growing hybrid fitness category and builds on the brand’s ongoing partnership with ATHX, its official hybrid competition partner.

The Adizero Dropset Pro is now available for ₱8,500 through adidas Philippines Hybrid Training Collection and at participating adidas stores nationwide.
