From the butterflies of a new crush to the uncertainty of love and the strength to move forward, music has a way of expressing emotions that words alone cannot capture. ABS-CBN Music artists Brent Manalo and Heath Jornales, along with P-pop groups AJAA, AZTER, and WRIVE, bring these relatable experiences to life through their latest music videos, each offering a story and sound of its own.
Brent Manalo Captures Hidden Feelings In “Pareho Tayong Nahihiya”
Brent Manalo and Analain Salvador portray co-workers who secretly like each other in the music video for “Pareho Tayong Nahihiya,” directed by John “Sweet” Lapus. Set in a coffee shop where the two work together, the story follows their subtle interactions as they navigate mutual attraction without finding the courage to confess their feelings.
Composed and produced by StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos, the song is part of Brent’s “Lover Boy” EP.
Heath Jornales Follows His Heart In “Back To You”
Heath Jornales explores love and longing in “Back to You,” a heartfelt track about caring for someone who keeps slipping away and choosing to return despite the distance. The Kapuso singer-actor stars alongside his mother, Kayla Davies, in the music video, where he tries to express his affection while holding on to feelings for someone special.
Composed by Heath himself and produced by Rox Santos, the song is one of the standout tracks from his debut EP.
AZTER Finds Hope Amid Uncertainty In “Parang May Mali”
P-pop boy group AZTER brings its “univerZity” concept to life in the music video for “Parang May Mali.” Set in a classroom that reflects the school-inspired theme of the group’s debut album, the video explores the feeling of being stuck in love while holding on to hope that things will eventually fall into place.
Written by Roel Rostata, Patrick Rodriguez, and John Reinard Fernandez, the track gets a dynamic visual treatment through choreography by Cedrick Mateo and AZTER member Kean. The music video was directed by Edrex Clyde Sanchez.
WRIVE Puts A Fresh Spin On “Sumayaw Ka” Featuring Cianne Dominguez
WRIVE offers a contemporary take on Gloc-9’s hip-hop track “Sumayaw Ka,” encouraging listeners to set their worries aside, enjoy the moment, and keep moving forward.
Originally composed by Gloc-9, the new version features Cianne Dominguez and is produced by Darren Cashwell and WRIVE member Russu. The music video shows the five-member P-pop group dancing and having fun in a closed room while dressed in denim ensembles. Its mix of high- and low-angle shots creates a CCTV-inspired visual perspective.
AJAA Brings First-Crush Jitters To Life In “KAKABAKABA”
AJAA captures the excitement and nervousness of meeting someone special in “KAKABAKABA,” a track from the group’s latest EP, “4:ÜS.” The song explores the butterflies that come with being around someone you like and how those jitters can fade when you are together.
The music video follows the group inside a thrift shop as its members try to win over their special someone, eventually leading to a prom-inspired celebration where they can spend time together. Composed by Dennis Campañer and produced by Gab Tagadtad, “KAKABAKABA” was directed by Mark Putian, with playful visuals that complement the song’s youthful charm.
