Okada Manila is shining a light on mental health this October through its partnership with the Philippine Mental Health Association, Inc. (PMHA) for the Light Up Blue for Mental Health Campaign, supporting World Mental Health Day and Mental Health Awareness Month.

On October 10, from 7 PM to 8 PM, Okada Manila’s Crystal Corridor glowed blue as the integrated resort joined participating establishments in raising awareness and encouraging greater understanding of mental health. Team members were also encouraged to wear blue in solidarity with the campaign.

“Mental health awareness becomes more meaningful when people feel they can speak openly, seek support, and look after one another,” said Atty. Jerome Sarte, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Okada Manila. “At Okada Manila, care for wellbeing is an important part of how we support our team members. Through Light Up Blue and our other initiatives this Mental Health Month, we hope to help make mental wellbeing a more visible and everyday conversation.”

The campaign is part of Okada Green Heart, the resort’s sustainability and social impact platform. Under its Safety, Security and Welfare pillar, the program supports initiatives that promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of people and the planet.

Supporting Mental Wellbeing Beyond The Campaign

Throughout October, Okada Manila is offering team members additional opportunities to learn about and care for their mental health. The activities began on October 1 with OkadaGLOW: Mind – Advocacy Session, which encouraged mental health awareness and open conversations.

From October 19 to 21, the resort will hold onsite psychological consultations in partnership with Bofill Psychological Services (BPSi) Clinic, providing team members with another avenue to access mental health support.

The month’s activities will continue with Wellness Wednesday: Yoga Session on October 21, followed by Paint Your Peace: Mental Health Through Colors on October 23. These initiatives encourage team members to nurture their wellbeing through mindfulness, movement, and creative self-expression.

Through Light Up Blue and its continuing mental health initiatives, Okada Manila aims to foster a workplace where wellbeing is prioritized, conversations about mental health are welcomed, and team members feel comfortable seeking support when they need it.
