Multi-awarded Filipino folk-pop band Ben&Ben is taking a step toward one of its biggest dreams, submitting Leaves (Reimagined) for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards under the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.

Submitted through the band’s label, Sony Music Entertainment Philippines, the reimagined track will be considered by Grammy voting members as part of the awards’ selection process. The band expressed gratitude for the opportunity, noting that earning a Grammy Award has long been among its aspirations.

For frontman Paolo Benjamin, who wrote the original song, Leaves (Reimagined) carries a deeply personal meaning. The track reflects his experience of navigating past hurt, choosing forgiveness, and finding strength through difficult moments.

“Someone very close to me in the past hurt me in a very unexpected way, and I was faced with the choice to forgive or part ways. I chose to forgive,” he shares. “This song will always hold deep meaning for me. It has been God’s way of saving me from my darkest thoughts countless times in the past, until now.”

Through the reimagined version, Benjamin hopes to encourage listeners to see forgiveness as a way of freeing themselves from pain, even when letting go of resentment feels difficult.

“I hope that this grown-up version of the song will make people realize that forgiveness is an act that sets ourselves free, even if it’s extremely hard to do sometimes. Because as the new version says, it’s those closest to us that can hurt us the most. I hope that it encourages people to never give up on selflessly loving, even if it can get painful,” he adds.

Grammy Season And A New Chapter For Ben&Ben

The submission comes as the Grammy Awards begin their selection process for the 2027 ceremony. First Round Voting runs from October 12 to 22, determining nominees across 100 categories. Official nominations are scheduled to be announced on November 16, ahead of the 2027 Grammy Awards on February 7, 2027.

Meanwhile, Ben&Ben continues to celebrate its musical journey with Nine, its latest album and a love letter to its listeners and the friendship that has shaped the band. The nine-track collection features reimagined versions of songs from different stages of the group’s career, including Leaves (Reimagined), alongside the 2026 hit Saranggola and the new song Harinawa.

Earlier this month, the band performed all nine tracks at its sold-out Saranggola: The Concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, bringing the album’s themes of connection and shared experiences to its devoted fan community.
