Josh Cullen is stepping back into his solo era with “Like Me,” a new collaboration with multi-awarded Korean-American rapper Jay Park, released through Sony Music Entertainment.
Produced by Josh himself and co-written with Mathew Auditor and Jay Park, “Like Me” explores identity and originality in a world increasingly shaped by imitation, adaptation, and algorithms. The track looks at the pressure to follow familiar formulas while asking where the line falls between adapting to change and losing one’s individuality.
“Like Me” carries the concept into its music video through a sci-fi-inspired visual world, complemented by intricate choreography and a cast of backup dancers. Josh co-directed the music video alongside Iana Forbes and Louis Duran, extending the song’s themes into a visual narrative.
Finding Identity In A Changing World
Rather than simply rejecting change, “Like Me” explores transformation as part of finding and maintaining one’s identity. Josh describes the tension between adaptation and imitation, emphasizing how easily the two can become indistinguishable without the compromises that come with change.
The Filipino singer, songwriter, rapper, and dancer from SB19 first brought the track to the stage during his solo live showcase on September 26 at Samsung Hall in SM Aura, Taguig City, giving fans an early look at his latest musical direction.
Fans will also have an opportunity to experience the track from a different perspective. On October 2, selected fans can learn the choreography for “Like Me” during an exclusive dance workshop at SPAC3 Studios in Quezon City.
Josh Cullen’s “Like Me” is now available worldwide on digital music platforms via Sony Music Entertainment, with its official music video also available to watch online.
