Shopee kicked off the holiday shopping season with strong 9.9 campaign results, as Filipino shoppers turned to the platform to discover products, engage with content, and get an early start on their Christmas shopping.
Orders processed through Fulfilled by Shopee (FBS) surged 2.5 times compared to last year’s 9.9 campaign, highlighting growing demand for fulfillment services during major shopping periods. Through FBS, sellers can store inventory within Shopee’s fulfillment network across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, while Shopee manages storage, packing, shipping, and returns.
For shoppers, the service also supports faster deliveries, with FBS orders typically arriving within one to two days in Metro Manila and three to five working days in Visayas and Mindanao, compared with seven to 10 working days for non-FBS sellers in the region.
Content Becomes Part Of The Shopping Journey
The 9.9 campaign also reflected the growing role of content in e-commerce. Active Shopee Affiliates more than doubled compared to last year’s campaign, giving shoppers more opportunities to discover products through creator recommendations and videos.
Engagement across Shopee Video, Drama, and Live also climbed. Watch time across Shopee Video and Drama increased 79% year-on-year, while Shopee Live attracted more than 3.7 million viewers, a 73% increase compared with an average day.
As shopping and entertainment continue to converge, Shopee’s content ecosystem gives creators more opportunities to participate in product discovery while helping shoppers find items through recommendations and interactive content.
“The 9.9 results give us a good indication of how Filipinos are starting to shop for the holidays,” said Vincent Lee, Head of Shopee Philippines. “Our role is to make sure shoppers get what they need reliably, sellers can keep up with the demand, and creators have more opportunities to connect people with the right products.”
With 9.9 marking the beginning of the holiday shopping season, activity is expected to build further as Christmas draws closer.
