HA.MÜ closed the fourth and final night of MNL FASHION WEEK 2026 at SMX Aura with HA? HA.MÜ!, a collection that looks inward as the label approaches its 10th anniversary, asking a simple but meaningful question: How did we become who we are today?
Rather than focusing on milestones and achievements, the designers turned their attention to the people, risks, challenges, and countless small decisions that shaped HA.MÜ over the past decade.
The collection unfolded in three acts. Act I revisited the brand’s beginnings and the environment that nurtured its creativity. Act II explored commitment—choosing an unconventional path, embracing experimentation, and remaining true to its vision despite changing trends. The final act, “I Do, Do I?”, became the emotional centerpiece, reframing commitment not simply as a promise to another person, but as one to yourself, your creativity, and the community that helped shape you.
The runway moved from experimental and playful beginnings toward something more emotional, romantic, and refined. Oversized silhouettes, playful and monochromatic colors, handcrafted details, structured tailoring, deconstructed forms, draping, and sculptural shapes reflected HA.MÜ’s signature balance of contradiction—chaotic yet intentional, nostalgic yet contemporary.
Rewriting The Bridal Look
Bridalwear anchored the final act, but HA.MÜ deliberately challenged its traditional symbolism. Instead of representing commitment to another person, the pieces represented commitment to oneself and the journey that brought the wearer to where they are.
True to the label’s playful approach, the designers also wanted to challenge what a bridal look is expected to be. “Fashion should be fun,” they said, emphasizing their desire to take familiar forms apart and reinterpret them freely.
HA.MÜ’s story began as a college thesis project that gradually evolved into a fashion label after people connected with its perspective on clothing as wearable art and self-expression.
For its 10th anniversary collection, the designers found that the biggest challenge was not technical but personal: telling their own story. Rather than recreating memories literally, they translated emotions into symbols, materials, and silhouettes, allowing the collection to remain personal while leaving room for audiences to find their own meaning.
The designers hope HA? HA.MÜ! encourages people to recognize the invisible forces that shape their lives and remember that growth is rarely linear. They also hope HA.MÜ’s journey inspires young creatives to trust their instincts, experiment, and understand that meaningful work takes time.
The show featured Mimiyuuuh as its muse, while guests included Oli London, Ba Tung, Cissylia, Helen Hiu, Linh Chau, and Ralph de Leon. Thai actor Boss Chaikamon Sermsongwittaya was also in Manila to attend MNL FASHION WEEK 2026.
With its 10th anniversary approaching, HA.MÜ is looking toward more collaborations and immersive experiences as it continues building on the vision that began with “one machine, two heads, four hands, and two pairs of feet.”
