With countless restaurants competing for attention online, finding somewhere new to eat is easy—but figuring out whether it is actually worth the money can be harder. Grab is making food discovery simpler with 5-Star Eats, an in-app food guide that highlights highly rated restaurants based on the experiences of everyday diners.

Instead of relying solely on viral posts, influencers, or individual critics, 5-Star Eats draws from ratings, reviews, and repeat orders from millions of Grab users. Restaurants featured in the collection have recorded an average 30% year-on-year increase in orders, showing how consistent food and service can turn first-time customers into returning fans.

Grab has partnered with digital channel FEATR to bring some of these stories to life through a two-part video series. The first episode visits three Makati restaurants and explores the stories behind the dishes that have earned diners’ trust.

At Sweet Ecstasy, founder Al Galang’s focus on consistency has remained unchanged since he started the business as a milk-and-cookie café at Cubao Expo in 2012. Its lineup now includes favorites such as the Cheeseburger, The Steamburger, and Seriously Good Burger.

Sugarbee, founded by Jenny Silayan in 2003, grew from selling three baked goods at local bazaars into a go-to destination for celebrations. Its Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake, Dulce de Leche Chocolate Cake, and mini cupcakes have become staples for birthdays, office gatherings, and everyday indulgences.

Meanwhile, 101 Hawker Food House brings Singapore-inspired comfort food to the local dining scene. Founded by Rexmond Chua in 2010, the restaurant serves dishes including Nasi Goreng, Laksa, and Hainanese Chicken, prepared with scratch-made sauces and spice pastes.

The next FEATR episode will spotlight Gino’s Brick Oven Pizza, Vito’s BBQ, and Tinuhog ni Benny, uncovering the recipes, stories, and customer relationships behind their loyal followings.

For diners ready to explore new favorites, simply open the Grab app, head to GrabFood, and tap the 5-Star Eats tile. The second episode of the Grab 5-Star Eats x FEATR series premieres September 17.
