Montblanc pays tribute to one of literature’s most enduring myths with the launch of the Writers Edition Homage to Bram Stoker, a limited-edition collection inspired by the Irish author behind Dracula. First published in 1897, Stoker’s iconic novel helped define the modern vampire myth and continues to influence literature and popular culture.
The collection explores the tension between the supernatural and scientific discovery that shaped Stoker’s work. Deep red and black tones evoke blood and poison, while sculptural details and engravings reference key elements of Dracula and the author’s personal life. The instruments’ silhouettes, caps, and cones draw inspiration from the 19th-century Pravaz syringe, reflecting the novel’s theme of blood transfusion as a rational response to the supernatural.
The Limited Edition features marbled red and black precious resin, ruthenium-coated fittings, and a solid Au 750 gold nib decorated with elements of the Stoker family coat of arms. An engraving of Stoker’s signature and details inspired by vampire bite marks complete the design.
The Limited Edition 1897 pays homage to the year Dracula was published, with a sculptural form inspired by a bat at rest. Crafted from Ag 925 sterling silver with an oxidized finish, it incorporates red garnets, mother-of-pearl, and theatrical references connected to Stoker’s career at London’s Lyceum Theatre.
Meanwhile, the Limited Edition 93, honoring the year Stoker began writing Dracula, draws on his interest in science, medicine, and technology. The most exclusive Limited Edition 8 combines garlic and wild rose motifs with hand-applied enamel, mother-of-pearl, diamonds, and red garnets.
Completing the collection are a special purple ink, a black velvet-textured notebook, and jasper-set steel cufflinks.
