Nearly a decade into their musical journey, Ben&Ben are returning to where much of their story began with the physical release of their acclaimed 2019 debut studio album, Limasawa Street.
Originally released during the band’s early years, the album introduced listeners to Ben&Ben’s lush folk-pop sound and heartfelt songwriting. It features now-beloved tracks such as “Pagtingin” and “Araw-Araw,” which have continued to resonate with fans through the years.
For the nine-piece collective, revisiting the album brings back memories of their formative years and the extensive Limasawa Street Tour, which took them to audiences across the Philippines and Singapore.
“Limasawa Street was always meant to be a work of its time: an exploration of fresh ideals and a new heart, a new start,” the band shares, describing their albums as “bookmarks” of the people they were and the beliefs they held at different points in their lives.
The album went on to earn multi-platinum certification from the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) and won Album of the Year at the 33rd Awit Awards, cementing its place in OPM history.
Now remastered for CD and vinyl by Grammy Award-winning sound engineer Jett Galindo, Limasawa Street offers longtime listeners and new fans a tangible way to experience one of Ben&Ben’s most defining releases.
The band, longtime fans of physical media themselves, says having their own vinyl pressing feels surreal—especially knowing fans can finally collect and keep the album in their homes.
Pre-orders for the Limasawa Street CD and vinyl opened August 29 at 12 noon via Backspacer Records.
