Ten original Filipino songs are now in the running to represent the Philippines at the inaugural “Eurovision Song Contest Asia,” with the country’s official entry set to be chosen during “Pili, Pinas: Philippine Selection Night” on August 30 at 9:45 PM.
The winning song will represent the Philippines at the Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 14. The competition marks the debut of the Asian edition of the international music competition organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
ABS-CBN, the broadcast partner for the Philippine participation, has released the 10 entries, each showcasing different sounds, stories, and perspectives from Filipino artists.
The 10 Philippine Entries
- “Between Bituin” — composed by Jungee Marcelo and performed by DNA. A joyful pop anthem about new beginnings, faith, and having the courage to dream beyond what is seen.
- “Broken Beyond Repair” — composed by Angelo Gonzales and performed by SAGA. An emotional orchestral ballad about the pain of holding on to someone who has already moved on.
- “Cheri(e)” — composed by Nar Cabico and performed by Elha Nympha, Esang, Lance Reblando, and Nar Cabico. The song celebrates individuality, identity, and embracing what makes each person unique.
- “Di Yan (Red Flag)” — composed by Jason Marvin and performed by Jason Dy and Sassa. A playful pop-R&B track about ignoring relationship warning signs while falling in love.
- “Good For You” — composed by Hazel Faith Santos and performed by Ryssi Avila. A soulful anthem about breaking toxic patterns and choosing personal growth for the person you love.
- “Make It Exist” — composed by Angelo Calucin and performed by AJAA. A high-energy track blending funk with Filipino budots, built around the message of turning the impossible into reality.
- “Mapadama” — composed by Jungee Marcelo and Jeremy G and performed by JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano. An uplifting bilingual pop-jazz duet about embracing one’s potential and believing in what could be.
- “Reason to Live” — composed by Stephen Tan and performed by Khimo. An R&B ballad centered on hope, resilience, and finding reasons to keep moving forward despite uncertainty.
- “Round N’ Round” — composed by Julius James de Belen and John Michael Conchada and performed by VVINK and WRIVE Russu. A song about the unpredictable pull of love and how two people can find their way back to each other.
- “Sobra-Sobra” — composed by Nica del Rosario and Mat Olavides and interpreted by Carmelle. An empowering dance track dedicated to Filipinas, encouraging women to embrace who they are without feeling they are ever “too much” or “not enough.”
Roxy Liquigan, head of ABS-CBN Music and Integrated Events, said the competition provides Filipino creators with an opportunity to bring local sounds and stories to an international audience.
The “Pili, Pinas!: Philippine Selection Night” compilation is now available on various music streaming platforms, giving listeners a chance to hear all 10 contenders before the selection night.
The Philippine Selection Night airs August 30 at 9:45 PM on iWant, ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live. It will also be available worldwide via TFC, with a delayed telecast on MYX.
