As rising costs encourage Filipinos to be more intentional about their spending, skincare choices are also becoming more thoughtful. Consumers are increasingly looking for products they can trust to support their skin health over the long term, viewing skincare not simply as a cosmetic luxury but as part of their overall wellness.
However, choosing the right products can be challenging. From crowded retail shelves to online platforms filled with competing claims, complex scientific terms, and constantly emerging ingredients, consumers can easily feel overwhelmed.
This growing demand for clarity and science-backed solutions is at the heart of the 8th annual National Healthy Skin Mission, held at SM Makati and organized by Cetaphil in partnership with Watsons and SM Beauty. Guided by the message “Healthy Skin Deserves No Compromise,” the initiative aims to give consumers access to clinically tested products and guidance tailored to different skin needs.
“We see firsthand how the skincare landscape is evolving. Today’s shoppers aren’t looking for quick fixes or trend-driven routines anymore,” said Pat Muyco, Group Senior Category Manager for Watsons. She added that Watsons aims to connect consumers with clinically proven, dermatologist-recommended solutions such as Cetaphil.
For Cetaphil, intentional skincare is not about following every trend or collecting more products. Instead, it means understanding individual skin needs and choosing care supported by science and dermatological expertise.
Choosing Skin Health Over Quick Fixes
Cetaphil Brand Ambassador Anne Curtis shared how intentional skincare has become increasingly important as she balances long days on set, frequent makeup application, and changing environments.
She encouraged consumers to be more discerning about the products they use and avoid compromising their skin health for quick results or passing trends.
Dermatologists Dr. Chesca Quinio-Calayag and Dr. Sella Umali-Adasa likewise emphasized the importance of choosing products that support the skin barrier while avoiding persistent irritation. Healthy skin, they noted, does not require an unnecessarily complicated routine or the constant pursuit of new ingredients.
The mission also highlights that healthy skin does not have to mean perfect skin. Abe Mationg, Head of Marketing for Cetaphil, encouraged consumers to understand their individual skin needs, listen to experts, and practice patience and self-care when their skin changes.
The National Healthy Skin Mission at SM Makati is open to the public until August 31, featuring interactive installations, dermatologist consultations, and science-led skincare guidance.
Consumers can follow Cetaphil PH on social media for more information. Cetaphil products are available nationwide at Watsons and SM Beauty stores, as well as through Watsons Online.
