Korea’s acclaimed Seoul Park Music Festival (SPMF) is taking its signature park music experience overseas with the inaugural Kaohsiung Park Music Festival (KPMF), happening on October 9 and 10 at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center in Taiwan.
The first international edition of SPMF will bring together more than 20 acclaimed Korean and Taiwanese artists and groups for a two-day celebration of music, culture, and community.
Leading the Korean lineup is SUPER JUNIOR-K.R.Y., who will return to Taiwan as a sub-unit for the first time in 11 years following their Phonograph Asia Tour in 2015. The appearance also comes as the trio celebrates its 20th anniversary. Widely recognized as K-pop’s first official sub-unit, SUPER JUNIOR-K.R.Y. remains an important part of the genre’s history, making their KPMF performance one of the festival’s most anticipated highlights.
Joining the trio are an exciting mix of established acts and rising Korean artists, including HIGHLIGHT, LUCY, Dragon Pony, BOL4, Lee Mujin, ONEWE, and DARA. Both Lee Mujin and BOL4 will make their Taiwan music festival debuts at KPMF.
The Taiwanese lineup brings an equally impressive roster of homegrown talent, featuring award-winning artists who have collectively earned more than 20 Golden Melody Awards. Among those set to perform are Crowd Lu, Penny Tai, Sunset Rollercoaster, WeiBird, icyball, Chih Siou, and more.
Together, the Korean and Taiwanese acts reflect KPMF’s vision of creating a cross-border music experience that celebrates the best of both countries’ music scenes.
Staying true to the format that has defined SPMF since its launch, KPMF will feature both indoor and outdoor stages, offering festivalgoers more than just live performances. The event will also introduce a distinctly Korean-style picnic experience, creating a relaxed setting where audiences can enjoy music, culture, and community from day to night.
Since its debut eight years ago, SPMF has welcomed more than 274,000 attendees and established itself as one of Korea’s leading music festival brands, with multiple sold-out editions. Through its expansion to Kaohsiung, organizers hope to introduce Taiwan to the festival’s signature park music culture and establish KPMF as one of Asia’s leading cross-border music festivals.
On October 9 and 10, the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center will be transformed into a vibrant urban park, where music lovers can unwind by the waterfront, catch performances from top Korean and Taiwanese artists, and experience a new kind of festival atmosphere.
KPMF is the first live entertainment project supported by the Entertainment and Culture Content Fund (TKECCF). It is jointly organized by CJ ENM Hong Kong, in its capacity as the Fund’s General Partner, and BEPCTANGENT, the festival’s producer.
