Students and parents of STI West Negros University can now pay tuition and other school fees through GCash following the university’s partnership with the country’s leading finance app via the GBills platform.

The partnership, formalized through a ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), aims to modernize the university’s payment system by complementing traditional over-the-counter transactions with a more convenient digital option.

Through the integration, students and their families can settle tuition and other school-related fees using the GBills feature within the GCash app, eliminating the need to visit campus cashier offices or physical payment centers.

The initiative comes as educational institutions across the Philippines continue expanding digital services introduced during the pandemic, with many schools adopting cashless payment solutions to improve accessibility and efficiency.

The new payment option is expected to streamline transactions by reducing queues, minimizing manual processing, and providing students and parents with a faster and more convenient way to pay school fees.

“At STI West Negros University, we continuously look for ways to enhance the student and parent experience beyond the classroom,” said Dr. Ryan Mark S. Molina, president and COO of STI West Negros University.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to modernizing our services and adopting solutions that make administrative processes simpler, more efficient, and more responsive to the needs of the school community,” he added.

For GCash, the collaboration is part of its broader efforts to accelerate digital transformation in the education sector while expanding access to cashless financial services beyond major urban centers.

“Education plays a vital role in shaping the future, and access to convenient financial services should support that journey,” said Cleo Celeste Santos, GCash vice president and head of sales.

“By enabling seamless tuition and school fee payments through GBills, we are not only improving everyday transactions for students and parents but also form part of our mission of driving financial inclusion and supporting nation-building through digital innovation,” Santos added.

The rollout of GCash GBills also supports STI West Negros University’s broader initiative to strengthen its digital payment infrastructure and deliver a more seamless campus experience.
