P-Pop girl group VVINK makes a confident artistic statement with the release of It Starts With A Wink – The First Full Album, a 14-track project under FlipMusic. More than a collection of polished summer pop tracks, the album delivers a cohesive sonic and emotional journey designed to be experienced from start to finish.

Built around the phrase “It Starts With A Wink,” the album draws inspiration from the idea of a subtle signal that instantly creates connection. Through its music, VVINK captures familiar emotions, awkward moments, friendships, humor, and vulnerabilities that define young Filipino adulthood, resulting in a listening experience that feels deeply relatable and distinctly Filipino.

In a music landscape heavily shaped by streaming culture and short-form trends, It Starts With A Wink stands out as a thoughtfully crafted body of work. The album unfolds through recurring themes, transitions, interludes, and emotional callbacks that make the record feel less like isolated singles and more like a collection of interconnected memories.

The album opens with “I-N-T-R-O,” immediately establishing VVINK’s vocal identity before flowing into the infectious “Tulala” and the hyperpop-meets-budots anthem “Baduy,” featuring internationally known producer DJ Love. As the project progresses, tracks such as “Tatlong Hiling” reveal the group’s softer and more emotional side, while “Tulog Pa Si Ganda” experiments with Jersey beats, funky house, and Miami bass influences.

Adding another emotional layer is “Kailan Ka Aamin,” written by acclaimed songwriter Nica Del Rosario, which blends contemporary Filipino storytelling with themes of honesty and inclusivity. At the center of the album is “Pag-ibig Fun,” a bright and playful pop anthem that perfectly captures the project’s carefree spirit.

The latter half of the album leans into heartfelt storytelling through tracks like “Ikaw Lang Ang Kulang,” “Oo,” and “Ikaw Ikaw,” highlighting the group’s charisma and songwriting strength. The record closes with “It’s A Rap,” a boom-bap-inspired track showcasing VVINK’s versatility, followed by “VVINK VVINK,” a brief teaser hinting at the group’s future musical direction.

The album was helmed by some of the Philippines’ top hitmakers from FlipMusic under the direction of Head Music Producer Julius James “Bojam” de Belen, known for his work on BINI’s Talaarawan, Sarah Geronimo’s “Tala,” and the Diary ng Panget soundtrack. The project also features contributions from renowned composers and producers including Nica Del Rosario, Myk Conchada, and VVINK member Angelika, who previously worked on BINI’s “Pantropiko.”

Before releasing their first full-length album, VVINK had already established a growing presence in the P-Pop scene through a series of pre-debut releases centered on continuity, replay value, and emotional storytelling. The group is composed of members Angelika, Ayaka, Jean, Mariel, and Odri, representing a new generation of Filipino pop talent grounded in authenticity and artistry.
