Quezon Wind Energy Corp. (QWEC), a subsidiary of Vena Energy, marked a significant milestone in its community engagement efforts through a formal check turnover ceremony for its host community—the Dumagat/Remontado Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs) of Tanay.

Held in Quezon City on April 21, 2026, the ceremony highlighted Vena Energy’s continued commitment to inclusive development and respect for the rights, heritage, and self-determination of indigenous communities.

Supporting Community-Led Development

The turnover formalized the remittance of community funds to the Tanay ICCs through the Tanay Dumagat Remontado Ancestral Domain Development, Inc. (TDRADDEVI), the Implementing Indigenous Peoples’ Organization (IPO) established through the Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) process.

Through this collaboration, Vena Energy supports development programs identified and prioritized by the ICCs themselves, including:

  • Infrastructure improvements
  • Access to education
  • Sustainable livelihood initiatives
  • Enhanced healthcare services

This approach ensures that development efforts remain community-led and aligned with the long-term aspirations of the indigenous population.
