The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is set to host the 2026 DTI–Bagong Pilipinas National Food Fair (NFF) from April 8 to 12 at the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall. As the country’s premier culinary trade event, the fair will feature over 320 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, highlighting the diversity and innovation of the Philippine food sector.

The NFF serves as a strategic platform for regional enterprise development, providing local manufacturers and processors a high-visibility venue to expand their market reach and connect with institutional partners.

Spotlighting the Coconut Industry and Halal Excellence

In line with national priority sectors, this year’s fair places a significant emphasis on two growing markets:

  • The Coconut Industry: Following the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), participating MSMEs will showcase the versatility and export-readiness of coconut-based products, reinforcing the Philippines’ position in the global agricultural market.

  • Halal-Ready Products: A dedicated segment will feature Halal-certified and Halal-ready goods. This initiative aligns with DTI’s push to increase the Philippines’ footprint in the global Halal economy through improved certification and product standards.

From OFWs to Entrepreneurs

A notable highlight of the 2026 Fair is the inclusion of food concepts developed by former Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). These enterprises represent successful transitions from overseas employment to local entrepreneurship, demonstrating the potential for sustainable livelihoods and economic resilience within the Philippines.

Facilitating Strategic Business Linkages

The DTI Business Connect Lounge will serve as the hub for professional networking, facilitating business matching between MSMEs and institutional buyers, including major distributors and retailers. The primary goal is to translate on-site discussions into formal supply agreements and long-term commercial partnerships.

Public Engagement and Admission

The Fair is open to the public with free admission, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience:

  • Regional Flavor Showcases: A wide range of indigenous and innovative food products.

  • Live Demonstrations: Interactive culinary sessions and product sampling.

  • Direct Access: A curated pool of market-ready products available for purchase.

Aligned with the Bagong Pilipinas agenda, the National Food Fair underscores the government’s commitment to fostering a competitive, innovative, and globally-recognized MSME sector.
