HONG KONG, Asia – Sony Music Publishing (SMP) today announced the appointment of Roslyn Pineda as President, Asia, effective immediately. Pineda succeeds longtime SMP Asia President Carol Ng, who will remain with the company until her planned retirement at the end of March.
In her new role, Pineda will oversee creative and business operations across multiple territories in Asia. Based in Hong Kong, she will focus on strengthening key relationships with clients and industry partners, while expanding global support for SMP’s songwriters across the region. She will report directly to Guy Henderson, President, International, Sony Music Publishing.
“I am thrilled to take on this leadership role at Sony Music Publishing Asia during such an exciting time for our industry and our region,” said Pineda. “I look forward to collaborating with our talented team and working closely with Guy Henderson and Jon Platt to empower our songwriters across Asia. Together, we will foster a vibrant, energetic environment that prioritizes creativity and innovation, ensuring that the voices of our creators are heard and celebrated.”
Pineda joins Sony Music Publishing from Sony Music Entertainment, where she most recently served as General Manager, Philippines, and previously as Vice President, Artist Relations & Business Development, Asia. Since beginning her career with Sony Music in 2001, she has worked across Hong Kong and the Philippines, collaborating with a diverse roster of global and regional artists including John Mayer, F4, Leehom Wang, Jessi, Sekai No Owari, Ricky Martin, Alicia Keys, and One Direction.
In late 2018, Pineda led the reopening of Sony Music Entertainment’s Philippines office, signing breakthrough Filipino acts such as Ben&Ben, SB19, and IV OF SPADES, and spearheading the acquisition of the ABS-CBN music catalogue in 2024. In 2025, she was honored as Billboard Philippines’ first-ever Music Industry Executive of the Year. Prior to her career in music, Pineda worked in marketing at Unilever.
On Pineda’s appointment, Guy Henderson said, “I am so pleased that Ros will take over the reins as President for SMP Asia, one of our most important and rapidly expanding international regions. With more than two decades of experience in the music business and a proven track record in artist development and creative leadership, Ros brings fresh energy and strategic focus that will drive our continued growth in Asia.”
Reflecting on her retirement, Carol Ng said, “Throughout these years, my team and I built strong synergies and together established a leading market position in the region. It has been a difficult decision to retire, but there is a time for everything. I look forward to spending more time with my family and gradually relocating to the U.K.”
Ng first joined the company in 1998 as Finance and Admin Manager and later rose to CFO, Asia, Regional Managing Director, Asia, and ultimately President, Asia in 2021. During her tenure, she led strategic expansion across the region, launching new offices in Jakarta (2021) and Bangkok (2025), and paving the way for a new office in Manila, Philippines, later this year.
