Makati Medical Center Wins Three Silver Anvil Awards for Excellence in Public Relations

Makati Medical Center (MakatiMed) marked a meaningful milestone at the 61st Anvil Awards, taking home three Silver Anvil recognitions from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP). Held on January 28, 2026, the awards night carried the theme “The 61st Second: Pushing Past Possibilities,” celebrating public relations programs that move conversations—and communities—forward.

At the heart of MakatiMed’s wins is a clear focus on people. Under the Employee Engagement category, the hospital was recognized for Gabay 2.0, its institutionalized mental health and wellness program for employees. Designed as ongoing support rather than a one-time initiative, Gabay 2.0 offers psychological consultations, mindful interventions, and psychosocial training—acknowledging that caring for patients begins with caring for those on the front lines.

Patient experience also took center stage with MakatiMed earning a Silver Anvil for QR Code Scheduling: Digital Innovation for Patient Convenience under Marketing and Brand Communication. By simplifying outpatient procedure bookings through a mobile-accessible system, the program has become a practical example of digital transformation in healthcare, posting an average conversion rate of 83 percent and making access to care faster and more intuitive.

Rounding out the recognitions is the Red Light Project, awarded under Advocacy and Public Awareness. Spearheaded by the Hematology Section and the Hospital Blood Transfusion Committee, the initiative uses red lights atop the MakatiMed building as a striking visual cue to signal critically low blood supply—turning the hospital skyline into a call for timely blood donations and collective action.
