Manila, Philippines – Filipino indie rock band We Are Imaginary has released their self-titled third album on all major streaming and digital music platforms worldwide via indie label floppydisks.
Produced by Joey Santos of Love One Another and Ahmad Tanji, the album explores themes of identity, emotional reckoning, and acceptance. Sonically, it leans into dreamy guitar-rock, blending shoegaze and noise-pop textures that drift through warm, fuzzy soundscapes before descending into moments of tension, doom, and angst. The record was recorded by Angee Rozul and Santos at Love One Another studio, mixed by Santos, and mastered by Adam Haggar at Mount Olympia Mastering.
Frontman Ahmad Tanji describes the album as an internal monologue—one that begins in uncertainty and gradually opens into understanding and calm. Rather than seeking resolution, the nine-track release embraces the idea that not all experiences require closure. Tanji notes that the album feels more cohesive, shaped by the band’s 17 years together and the comfort and trust that come with long-term collaboration.
Throughout the record, the band allows space for contrast, as hushed passages give way to surging intensity, and vulnerability exists alongside restraint. The result is a patient and cohesive body of work that feels unforced and unburdened by the need to prove anything. Designed to be experienced as a complete listening journey, the album rewards close attention through its sequencing, subtle shifts, and quiet moments, best heard in a single sitting.
Tanji credits the production team for helping shape the sound, noting Rozul’s alignment with the band’s taste and Santos’ dynamic mixing approach, with multiple drafts exchanged to strip each song to its essentials. With this release, We Are Imaginary presents a confident and reflective snapshot of who they are today.
The album is also set for a vinyl release via Eikon Records in the first quarter of the year.
