Filipino-led EduTech firm Bitskwela has launched BitDev, the country’s first blockchain-enabled developer microlearning (DML) platform designed to simplify the creation, testing, and deployment of Web3 applications. With only 203 of 190,000 software developers in the Philippines specializing in blockchain, BitDev aims to transform existing Web2 developers into skilled Web3 builders and close the nation’s blockchain talent gap.

Our vision is to turn the Philippines into a hub of world-class blockchain builders, and the BitDev platform is a step closer to that,” said Jiro Reyes, CEO of Bitskwela. By leveraging a blockchain-enabled Integrated Development Environment (IDE), BitDev guides developers through real-world Web3 challenges, from understanding complex syntax to managing blockchain gas fees.

Designed by developers for developers, BitDev offers hands-on learning through a Live Editor tool and supports programming and scripting languages including JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Python, Solidity, and Move. Learners can build real-world projects such as web and mobile apps, smart contracts, blockchains, cryptocurrency wallets, decentralized exchanges, and decentralized apps (DApps).

Bitskwela is also partnering with local universities like Dr. Yanga’s Colleges Inc. (DYCI) and the Philippine Women’s University (PWU) to integrate BitDev into IT curricula. Students gain access to self-paced technical modules, blockchain-issued certifications, and the chance to develop their own Web3 applications at affordable, student-friendly pricing.

BitDev enhances digital literacy among future web developers, increasing employability while encouraging participation in the growth of blockchain in the Philippines,” said Vince Edralin, COO of Bitskwela. The platform is accessible at developer.bitskwela.com, giving aspiring developers a hands-on path to mastering the emerging world of Web3.
