Sony Music Entertainment announces the worldwide release of THE FIRST TAKE versions of SB19’s hits “DAM” and “Time”, now streaming on all digital music platforms. Both songs were originally performed as exclusive one-take recordings for THE FIRST TAKE, the Japanese YouTube channel known for featuring global artists in single-take performances. SB19 made history as the first and only Filipino and Southeast Asian act to appear on the channel—and now the first ever to do so twice.
Representing the Philippines on a global stage remains a milestone the group treasures. Pablo shared, “We are happy and honored to be back in TFT. It has always been our goal to champion Filipino talent and perform on a globally recognized platform. This is a huge opportunity and honor for us.” Stell added, “Performing on THE FIRST TAKE is a huge achievement. It may not be a trophy, but it is an honor to share our music and represent our country.” Josh noted, “We used to daydream about performing there, and now we’ve grown and are finally doing it, not just for SB19 but also to show what real Filipino talent is.”
The single-take format presents unique pressure and pride. Ken explained, “Although the performance is similar to what we’ve done before, it really is a true one-take recording. We put in a lot of hard work to perform without mistakes and are proud to share this moment with everyone.”
SB19’s global impact continues to grow. They were the first Filipino group to chart on Billboard Japan, debuting at No. 17 on the Top Album Sales Chart with Simula At Wakas EP. “Time” reached No. 1 on Line Music Japan’s World Music Top 50, while “DAM” became the second most-viewed Filipino music video within 24 hours of release. The group also entered the Official MENA Chart, landing in the UAE Top 10 and Saudi Arabia Top 20.
