Mega Prime Foods, maker of Mega Sardines, the country’s #1 sardines brand and the world’s first “Superfood” endorsed by the Medical Wellness Association, kicks off National Sardines Month 2025 with a month-long celebration recognizing the dedication of Filipino fishermen and supporting local communities. The festivities highlight the brand’s commitment to nutrition, community, and the hardworking individuals behind every can of Mega Sardines.

The celebration began on November 5 at the Malabon Sports Center, continued at Star Arena in Baliuag, Bulacan on November 13, and will conclude at the Danao Civic Center in Cebu on November 29. These Ka-Mega community outreach events brought families together with cooking demonstrations of easy, nutritious Mega Sardines recipes, interactive games encouraging family bonding, and gift-giving that extended support to local residents.

The centerpiece of the month-long celebration was the Heroes’ Welcome in Zamboanga on November 18—a homecoming dedicated to the fishermen whose commitment ensures every can of Mega Sardines meets the highest standards of freshness and quality. The event featured a marching band, a parade of fishermen per vessel, and heartfelt messages from Mega Prime Foods executives. Outstanding individuals were honored with awards, and families joined a warm salu-salo, celebrating unity, shared stories, and the spirit of bayanihan.

“Our fishermen and the Ka-Mega community are at the heart of everything we do,” said Malcolm Tiu Lim, Chief Technical and Innovations Officer. “We remain committed to delivering nutritious, high-quality food while strengthening ties within the communities we serve.”

Founded in 1975, Mega Prime Foods continues to uphold its legacy through sustainable fishing practices, responsible sourcing, and the signature 12-hour catch-to-can process. National Sardines Month serves as a meaningful tribute to the everyday heroes whose grit and dedication sustain Filipino families.
