Anthem, a Filipino fashion retailer, is expanding its retail presence with new stores, brand launches, and employee-focused programs. The company began as a small pop-up in 2006 and now has over 80 stores across the Philippines. Anthem’s retail mix includes global brands like Original Penguin, Champion, Perry Ellis, Beyond The Vines, Between Days, and Thomas Sabo. The company is also partnering with Stanley tumblers for its standalone stores. As Anthem approaches its 20th anniversary in 2026, it is aiming for continued growth and expansion.

In 2024, it opened an Anthem concept store in One Bonifacio High Street Mall to serve as a multi-brand destination that houses several of these labels in one space. The company also launched its first dual-brand store for Original Penguin and Perry Ellis, along with a refreshed Beyond The Vines store at Shangri-La Plaza, further expanding its footprint in key retail locations. A new Anthem multi-brand store at Opus Mall is set to launch soon.

In 2026, the group will expand further by introducing a new women’s fashion brand, underscoring its commitment to staying relevant in an evolving retail landscape.

“From the very first Anthem store, our vision has been to bring thoughtfully selected global brands closer to the Filipino consumer,” said Cheryl Lao Lee, Co-Founder and CEO of Anthem. “This next chapter of expansion allows us to serve more communities while investing in programs that create lasting value for our employees.”

Anthem’s commitment to innovation and industry leadership has been recognized with the Outstanding Filipino Retailer (OFR) award in the Medium Tier category in 2024. This prestigious accolade highlights the company’s dedication to establishing best practices within the retail sector and setting new benchmarks for excellence.

The company also invests in its employees’ growth and development. Selected staff are offered exposure trips to cities like Singapore, Japan, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and the USA, providing insights into global business practices and enhancing strategic planning through creative brainstorming. Styling sessions and workshops conducted by the School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFA) keep employees updated on industry trends and sharpen their fashion retail skills. Furthermore, Anthem offers an Employee Scholarship Program, which allows staff to pursue a four-year college degree while working full-time. Current scholars include store supervisors, training leaders, and sales managers who balance coursework with managing teams and driving store performance.

The company also engages employees in community outreach projects, reinforcing its goal of contributing beyond the retail floor. Initiatives such as toy and clothing donations highlight how the group weaves business milestones with social responsibility.

With over 500 employees nationwide and a steady pipeline of store openings and brand introductions, Anthem looks ahead to its anniversary year with a focus on retail innovation, employee growth, and building connections with customers.

“Reaching nearly 20 years in the business gives us perspective on how much retail has changed,” said Eric Lee, Co-Founder and Chairman of Anthem. “What has remained constant is our belief that great brands, strong partnerships, and empowered employees are what shape sustainable growth.”
