Fête de la Musique, a highly anticipated live music event in the Philippines, is returning for another year with Shangri-La Plaza’s The Ember Stage. The event promises performances featuring acoustic, jazz, chillout, and ambient music. The Grand Atrium will transform into an urban oasis on June 13 from 5 PM to 10 PM. The Ember Stage is co-presented by the Embassy of France to the Philippines, Funkybeat Entertainment, and Anam Kara. Fête de la Musique has built a community that celebrates raw artistry, bringing together talented acts and music enthusiasts. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind experience for free.
Leading the lineup of young and fresh music for the Fête stage at the Shang is Over October, one of today’s most prominent pop/alternative rock bands. The group comprises Josh on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Lua on lead guitar, Janessa on drums, Joric on bass, and Anton on second guitar. They were formed in 2014 and gained fans for over a decade, but they reached massive success in 2024 with their explosive hit Ikot, which amassed over 115 million plays on Spotify.
Then, there’s Filipino-Nepalese R&B singer-songwriter Jason Dhakal. With over 564,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, he made his mark in the industry with his soulful, jazz-infused, and groovy renditions of OPM classics such as VST & Company’s Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko, Sitti’s Para sa Akin, and Smokey Mountain’s Kailan (his latest single).
Jikamarie joins the pack with her brand of R&B-dream pop. An avid TikTok creator, the rising Gen Z artist found a solid following after her debut song, Lutang, topped the Spotify Viral 50 Philippines and Global charts in 2021. With her undeniable talent, she was also tapped to open for Coldplay at their Philippine Arena concert in January 2024. Singer-songwriter and The Voice Kids alum Shanne Dandan is dedicated to blending contemporary music with that “Manila” sound, creating songs rooted in pop, jazz, and traditional Filipino music punctuated by her powerful vocals. She encapsulated her vision in her debut album, Kung Iyong Mamarapatin, released in October 2024.
Known for creating upbeat music and youthful melodies, Any Name’s Okay is a beloved alternative pop group composed of Sofia on vocals, Renzo on vocals and rhythm guitar, Anton on lead guitar, Arvin on drums, and Juan on bass. Last May, the quintet released its latest single, How the Heart Breaks, a ballad that explored a new, darker side of the band. Mixing city pop and OPM, ALYSON is surely a must-watch. The five-piece band consists of Pio on vocals and rhythm guitar, Luis on lead guitar, Marcus on drums and backing vocals, Miguel on bass, and Easel on keyboard. Always in their suit and tie, the group deftly combines fresh tunes and nostalgic vibes in their performances.
Rounding out Shang’s Fête stage is multi-awarded DJ, producer, and entrepreneur HOEST, who’s expected to share a blend of house, techno, and electronic music to energize the crowd.
Join the music crowd on a Friday night. Head over to The Ember Stage at Shangri-La Plaza’s Grand Atrium on June 13 and embrace the soothing melodies, gentle rhythms, and intimate vibes of this refreshing Fête de la Musique stage.
