Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Manila, Philippines, will host the Project 1000, a run challenge hosted by Natalie Dau, an elite-endurance athlete and ultramarathoner. Dau will run 1,000 km over 12 days, equivalent to two marathons each day, to raise funds and awareness for selected beneficiaries. The event will be the final stop for the Project 1000, which has been a significant milestone in the city’s history. BGC is known for hosting numerous milestones, including birthday celebrations, get-togethers, and casual runners starting their fitness journey.

With Project 1000: Philippines having kicked off on April 21 and expected to culminate on May 2, Dau is currently traversing the island of Luzon, where she kicked off at Sta. Ana in Cagayan is expected to end in the heart of Taguig, BGC.

Known for her incredible feats of athleticism and dedication to charitable causes, Dau is once again pushing her limits after a successful 1,000-km solo run last year from Thailand to Singapore in just 12 days, setting multiple records, including a Guinness World Record for the Fastest Crossing of Peninsular Malaysia on Foot.

This incredible endeavor aims to raise crucial funds and awareness for several important beneficiaries, including BGC’s Bayani Scholars. The Bayani Scholarship Program, serving as one of the key initiatives of BGC’s non-profit arm Fort Bonifacio Development Foundation, provides educational and employment opportunities and support to marginalized but deserving students in Taguig City, empowering them to overcome barriers and build successful futures. By nurturing these young individuals, the Bayani Scholars Program strengthens the local community and fosters future leaders.

Just as well, Project 1000: Philippines is also undertaken for the benefit of additional local communities Natalie is expected to encounter along her route, including Tay-ac Elementary School in Ilocos Sur, and the Zambales-based Alon & Araw Club and Sisters of Mary, both organizations that serve to help and support the underprivileged.
