Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has expanded its presence in the Visayas with the opening of a new World Service Center in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, enhancing access to international shipping services for businesses across the region.
Strategically located at the Ground-Air Logistics Corporation (GALCO) Complex, 2nd Floor, Unit 3, within the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Cargo Complex and beside the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Cebu office, the facility is designed to streamline customs processing and improve shipping efficiency.
The World Service Center offers on-site customs clearance assistance, with dedicated processors available to help customers with documentation requirements and customs-related inquiries. It also serves as a convenient shipment drop-off location, allowing businesses and individuals to send packages without the need to schedule a pickup.
“As Cebu continues to strengthen its position as a major hub for trade, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship, FedEx remains committed to investing in infrastructure that helps local businesses connect with global opportunities,” said Maribeth Espinosa, managing director of FedEx Philippines.
“The Cebu World Service Center brings our services closer to customers, making international shipping more accessible, efficient, and convenient. From established exporters to growing small and medium enterprises, customers can rely on FedEx for the expertise, connectivity, and support they need to expand beyond borders and unlock new growth opportunities,” she added.
The new facility complements FedEx’s existing air operations in Cebu, which include six inbound flights weekly (Sunday through Friday) and five outbound flights weekly (Monday through Thursday and Saturday). These enhancements strengthen the company’s logistics capabilities in the Visayas, enabling businesses in Cebu and nearby provinces to access FedEx’s global network spanning more than 220 countries and territories.
The expansion comes as cross-border e-commerce and regional trade continue to grow, reinforcing FedEx’s commitment to investing in logistics infrastructure that supports Philippine businesses and helps them compete in the global marketplace.
