Selling used sports equipment online can be a tedious task, from responding to endless inquiries and negotiating lowball offers to coordinating meetups and dealing with buyers who suddenly disappear. This August, Decathlon Philippines is offering a simpler alternative through its Buyback Week, giving customers an easy way to trade in pre-loved sports gear for Decathlon vouchers.
Running from August 9 to 15, 2026, Buyback Week will be held at participating Decathlon stores nationwide. Customers can bring eligible, fully functional Decathlon equipment to participating branches, have their items evaluated by Decathlon’s Circular Economy team, and receive the agreed value as a Decathlon Gift Card once the assessment is completed.
Participating locations include Decathlon Pasig (Tiendesitas), Decathlon Alabang, and Decathlon North EDSA, among other branches.
Three Simple Steps to Trade In
Decathlon’s Buyback program eliminates many of the hassles associated with selling gear through online marketplaces.
Customers can begin by using Decathlon’s online assessment tool to get an initial estimate of their item’s value. They can then bring the equipment to a participating store during Buyback Week for a physical inspection by a Decathlon teammate.
Once the evaluation is validated, customers receive their agreed value instantly through a Decathlon Gift Card, providing immediate store credit that can be used toward their next sporting adventure.
Whether upgrading a mountain bike, moving from indoor workouts to outdoor activities, or replenishing a family’s sports gear, the voucher provides a convenient way to put the value of pre-loved equipment toward a future purchase.
Giving Sports Gear a Second Life
Beyond convenience, Decathlon’s Buyback program is designed to support the company’s circular economy efforts by extending the useful life of sports equipment.
Items traded in through the program enter Decathlon’s “Second Life” process, where the Circular Economy team refurbishes equipment to meet safety and quality standards. Refurbished items are then offered at reduced prices, giving other sports enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy them.
By trading in equipment instead of throwing it away, customers can help extend product lifecycles and reduce waste associated with discarded sporting goods and the production of new equipment.
How to Join Decathlon Buyback Week
From August 9 to 15, 2026, customers can participate by bringing eligible Decathlon-branded sporting equipment in fully functional condition to participating stores.
Items eligible for trade-in include bicycles, tents, fitness equipment, scooters, and other major sporting gear.
