In partnership with Galaxy Entertainment Group, Capella Hotels and Resorts is launching Capella at Galaxy Macau, a luxurious sanctuary in Hong Kong’s vibrant gateway. The 93-key hotel, set to open in 2025, offers a curated collection of authentic cultural experiences and a serene sanctuary for guests to enjoy moments of beauty and tranquility. Capella at Galaxy Macau is the first Capella Hotels and Resorts to open in The Greater Bay Area, featuring 36 expansive Sky Villas with private balconies, infinity-edge swimming pools, outdoor lounges, and sunrooms. The villas feature a hidden winter garden, providing a transformative experience of nature’s tranquillity. The design narrative includes an entertainment lounge, games room, and contemporary bar, while the 57 suites have spacious plunge pools and balconies with city views.
Bruno Moinard and Claire Bētaille, from Paris-based Moinard Bētaille, have designed a sanctuary of sophistication in Capella Hotels and Resorts. The interiors, featuring hand-painted wallpaper by Lala Curio, celebrate Macau’s tropical jungles and natural wonders. The design is enhanced by a diverse contemporary art collection, inspiring contemplation and reflection among guests.
Capella at Galaxy Macau’s key gastronomic concept is crafted in association with one of Hong Kong’s brightest culinary stars, Vicky Cheng. A Michelin-starred chef, Vicky Cheng is lauded for his culinary excellence in melding together French techniques with modern Chinese flavours. His restaurant is set to be the most anticipated opening in the region, where Macau’s fascinating East and West influences will allude to his culinary masterpieces. Chef Cheng is also the chef-founder of Vea and Wing, which is currently No.5 on Asia’s 50 Best Awards 2024.
Enriching the dining experience, the restaurant’s sublime design is by award-winning Hong Kong based interior designer Joyce Wang, of the eponymous design shop Joyce Wang Studio. Wang illustrates a fluid space that resonates with Chef Cheng’s creativity. The notion of exploration and discovery is embedded into her design, where boundaries are meaningfully blurred between guest and chef, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in Chef Cheng’s intimate cooking ritual.
Capella at Galaxy Macau presents a bold new take on The Living Room, which is set to cement the property’s standing as Macau’s cultural hub. Alongside a series of enriching experiences designed to guide guests to navigate the innermost layers of Macau, Capella at Galaxy Macau will also feature Pony & Plume, a members-only al fresco lounge featuring the most extensive hotel humidor to store the Vintage Cuban collection of distinguished guests.
Inspired by the game of equestrian polo, Pony & Plume will feature a curated cocktail and the finest whiskies of provenance, underpinned by rare vintage Cuban puros. Meanwhile, a dedicated bar will serve storied cocktails in timeless elegance.
Pony & Plume, a members-only al fresco lounge concept with the most extensive hotel humidor informed by a tightly held collection of the finest handpicked vintage Cubans of legendary provenance. Besides the insinuation of smoky flavours in Pony & Plume’s cocktail and food options, Plume is the ‘whisper-only’ name of a hidden invitation-only terrace, where a collection of the city’s best examples of Havana craftsmanship will be appreciated by serious aficionados. Aside from opportunities to taste special, rare and vintage selections by the stick, a feature display will allow you to peek at treasures from the owning family’s private collection – these include a range of vintage Cuban Dunhill and even the entire Davidoff Chateau series, as well as some historical unicorns. This will inevitably be Macau’s most sought after access, for connoisseur fans of the artisanal produce of Cuba and the New World.
